The 4R Ranch trail system is located north of Muenster, Texas on 4R Ranch. By virtue of the fact that the 1,132 acre ranch encompasses land that transitions from the shortgrass prairie to the Red River Valley, the ranch is blessed with magnificent vistas, multiple ridge lines, ravines and rocky terrain. These attributes make it an ideal site for mountain biking.
The trail encompasses an excellent mix of fast flat stretches with gentle turns, with many fun gravity dips, ravines, short and long climbs, long fast descents and open prairie sections. This can be a very challenging trail if you choose the “Full Monte” with all the advanced sections in your ride. You won’t be disappointed.
The race is open to men & women, bikes & e-bikes. The e-bike race will begin when the other bikes are off the course.
Proceeds benefit the Sacred Heart Catholic School Alumni Association and the construction & maintenance of the 4R Ranch trail system.

Safety for the riders and support persons is always the first priority…not the race.
All in the interest of promoting safety, set standards and good sportsmanship so everyone can finish well and have fun. Each racer is responsible for knowing and following these rules.  Failure to comply with these written rules or any other rules communicated to racers at the event may result in disqualification. Race organizers will make any decisions regarding any alleged or potential violation when reported or observed.

  1. SINGLE BIKE/SELF SUPPORTED - Racers must compete on one bike for the entire race.
  2. Racers may receive outside support; food and drink, mechanical, at any place along the race course so long as it does not interfere or impede other racers.
  3. PROTECTIVE GEAR & HELMETS - The amount and type of protective gear is at the rider’s discretion. A helmet is required and other protective gear is optional.
  4. RIDER DOWN RULE – If you come across a downed rider, please stop to see that they are okay before continuing. Use your judgement here. If a rider is broken or unconscious STOP, if they’ve fallen but appear to be okay, ride on. Let officials know and they will sort out your time.
  5. DIRECTIONS AND COURSE MARKINGS - Course map will be displayed online at the week of the race. Riders are encouraged to study the map and understand the race route prior to racing.
  6. TAPE - Where two pieces of course tape on opposite sides of the course are used, riders must pass between them. Single pieces of course tape can be utilized to identify a turn (tape on outside of turn) and/or cheater line (usually inside of turn). Course tape can also be used to mark trail intersections to keep racers on the right trail.  Breaking through this tape to advance your position will result in disqualification.
  7. No disposable goggle tear offs can be used
  8. The disposal of food packaging on the trail is strictly prohibited
  9. Race Organizers reserve the right to penalize and/or disqualify any rider whose actions are deemed inappropriate.
